If you have a VAT ID (USt-IdNr.): state it above. It's required under § 5 (1) no. 6 DDG when you have one.
If you are a small business (Kleinunternehmer, § 19 UStG): delete the VAT section entirely and instead add this line to your Terms and to your invoices: "In accordance with § 19 UStG, no VAT is charged." Do not invent a VAT number.
Consumer dispute resolution
I am neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).
Almost every Impressum generator still inserts a link to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. Do not add it.
The platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228. Businesses that previously had to link to it are now required to remove the link, because pointing consumers at a dead service can be treated as misleading — which is itself an enforcement risk. The separate obligation to state your position on alternative dispute resolution still applies, and that is the paragraph above.

Fill every highlighted field. The address must be a complete street address where legal documents can be served — a PO box does not satisfy § 5 DDG. If you would rather not publish your home address, a ladungsfähige Anschrift from a business address provider is the usual alternative.
Consider a German version. This page is in English to match the site. If you actively sell to consumers in Germany, having the Impressum available in German too is the safer course.
